Creating and Configuring Email Notification Rules for GDAP Requests

Starting from January 25, 2024, the CloudBlue Connect email service is used to send GDAP email notifications. The Connect email service consists of a default notification rule, where you must configure the email subject and the HTML code that will be used as the skeleton of email body. The GDAP templates containing the email body text must still be configured in the Microsoft Management Settings extension. Once a notification rule has been created in the Settings module of Connect Distributor portal (Settings > Email), you must link the GDAP templates with the notification rules in the Microsoft Management Settings extension.

Note: This feature does not prevent order completion or has any impact on provisioning the new commerce subscriptions, but it is key to configure the format of GDAP notifications.

If you wish to use GDAP templates in different languages for different marketplaces, the recommendation is to create one Email Notification Rule for each of the templates and link them to each other. In this way, you will be able to localize the email subject into different languages.

Important: You will also need to create an Email Notification Rule for each existing GDAP email template and link them to each other. To obtain additional information, click here.

Below you can find the step-by-step instructions that you will need to follow:

  1. In the Connect Distributor portal, go to Settings > Email.

  2. In the Notifications tab, under Triggered Externally, click Send Email via API.

  3. Make sure that the default notification rule is enabled and click the pencil icon to check the preview and email subject.

  4. Enter the subject that will be used in the Custom GDAP request email in the Subject field.

Note: Adding a subject is mandatory even if you are configuring a notification rule for a GDAP template that already had a subject, since the GDAP notification will only use the subject configured in the notification rule.

  5. Replace the default body template with the one provided here, which will provide a blank html body. You can customize the format, but the HTML must contain the {{ content }} placeholder. Then, click Save.

  6. To create a new notification rule, click Add and repeat the steps 4 and 5.

Once the Email Notification Rule has been created, you will need to link the GDAP email templates to the corresponding Email Notification Rule. For more information, refer to the Linking GDAP Email Templates to Email Notification Rules section.
